Distros I have tried ever
These are distros I've installed on my various laptops, roughly ordered chronologically. I used to distro-hop a lot, but settled on flavors of arch linux, ultimately. If you want to try installing stuff on hardware, I can wholeheartedly recommend a usb drive with ventoy.
- ~2013- Ubuntu This was my foray into linux.- decent for servers.
- lots of tutorials out there, so good for beginners in that way. At this point in time, however, Ubuntu is outclassed by other modern distros (mint).

- Linux Mintπ- My more modern recommendation for new users, rather than ubuntu.

- Crunchbang (Very stylish. dead distro, though)
- Gentoo (Briefly)
- Debian. π- nice for servers

- Ubuntu This was my foray into linux.
- ~2016
- ~ 2020 to now- EndeavourOS- This one is okay, but I've found it to be inferior to ArcoLinux currently. I used this one at my first job if I remember correctly.

- ArcoLinux πππ- This is my modern go-to. Very confusing website, with lots of different downloads. But they've got extensive video tutorials and great overall support.

- EndeavourOS
In terms of hardware I've installed linux on.
- Acer Aspire One Netbook
- Acer C720 i3 (x3)
- Thinkpad T460s
- Dell XPS 15 (x2)
- Chuwi MiniBook X
- Steam Deck (I'm counting this because it is Arch lol)
Distros to try for fun#
- batocera- I tried this on my raspberry pi, It was cool. Very good setup for a desktop you want to control with just a gamepad.

- bazzite
