What happened
Over a few months sometimes inputs would drop at moments. I would swap out the usb c cable and it would be sort of okay.
Then during a set it totally died.
My usb c port was dead. It would only work if used force and super jammed my cord into the port and held it there with continued pressure. Not really doable or realistic.
Why this is nearly impossible to fix
- The usb c is essentially integrated directly into the PCB. So I would need a new PCB. They don't make them anymore.
How could this have been avoided?
- The manufacturer could have made a separate usb-c module that is replaceable.
- I could have used a usb c adapter to lessen the strain on the internal usb c port every time I plugged / unplugged. I will be doing this on my next box I use.
