Gallery of Every Video Game Console I've Owned

Intro#

This is every console we ever owned in my house. I spent countless hours on just about all these consoles. My overall favorite is the PS2 due to its extensive library.

The pictures are from random sources online, but the actual console colors and model match exactly to what I remember.

The “top games” for each system are what I spent the most time playing. Some games were more enjoyable than others.

Nowadays I usually play PC games, emulation, and my Steam Deck. So I don't really use any of these consoles anymore.

Our mom got us a ps1 when I was in kindergarten. We successfully hid it from my dad for about a week until he noticed our ‘new nintendo’.

Top games: Spyro series, Twisted Metal 4, THPS 2, Tomb Raider 2.

Current Status: In closet, unsure if it works.

Mom said my brother could get a ps2 if he got over a 3.0 GPA. He got a 3.05 and the rest is history. I remember we also had an action replay disc for this. That was fun.

Compared to the other consoles here, the PS2 is has the best overall selection of games.

Current Status: gone/trashed

After our original PS2's dvd tray got stuck, we replaced it with a slim. These consoles were cool because they were also very capable DVD players.

Top games: Sly Cooper 1-3, Simpson's Hit and Run, Ratchet & Clank 1-2, MGS3, Tony Hawk's 4/Underground / American Wasteland, Spider-Man 1+2, Ultimate Spider-Man, Prince of Persia: SoT, Burnout Revenge, 007 Nightfire, Timesplitters 2, Downhill Domination, I-Ninja, GTA 3/VC/SA, Shadow of the Colossus, War of the Monsters, Destroy all Humans, MC3 Dub edition Remix, Mercenaries, Sonic Heroes, Battlefront 2, NFL Street 1+2, NBA Street v3, and too many more.

Current Status: In closet, works.

The PS3 slim was great value at $299. Got into online games with this. Also, this marked when I first got an HDTV.  Because the console used Blu-Ray, games could be much bigger in size. Some games were over 40GB on disc.

I credit LittleBigPlanet 2 to where I wrote my first programs. I made a circuit board that spun a wheel by pressing circle, but if you triple tapped circle within a timeout it would instead spin the other way. Programming!

Top Games: Uncharted 2+3, LittleBigPlanet 2, FIFA 12, COD 4 + MW2, GTA 4+5, Batman Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed 2, Portal 2, Skate 3, MGS4.

Current Status: In closet, works, and I hacked it.

Someone we knew took their own little sister's gamecube and gave it my sister. Lucky me.

My GCN had this now-rare melee skin. Notably, it features Wario and Diddy Kong, who are not in the actual game. I got the skin for $10 at a gamestop while I was also picking up a used copy of Luigi's Mansion.

Top Games: Super Smash Bros. Melee, LoZ Wind Waker, Mario Strikers, Kirby's Air Ride, MVP Baseball '05.

Current Status: Gave it to my friend, still works.

Got a Wii in a bundle close to launch. Hacking this with the homebrew channel is what got me into computers, programming, and emulation. Due to the hackability, I think the wii is my favorite console of all time.

Top Games: SSB Brawl, MK Wii, LoZ Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports, emulated games via Homebrew Channel

Current Status: The original is gone, but I have other wiis.

Gameboy Pocket. I learned to read by playing Pokemon on this.

Top games: Mario Land 2, Pokemon Blue, Wario Land 2, “Defender / Joust”.

We also had a game genie for this.

Current Status: Lost?

Finally a backlight. This thing was cool because it could play GB, GBC, and GBA games. Very cool stuff and I still have it and it still works and holds a charge.

Top games: Wario Land 4, Pokemon Silver, Blender Bros, Metroid Fusion/Zero Mission, M&L Superstar Saga, Kirby NiDL/AM, Super Mario World, Link's Awakening DX.

Current Status: Working, somehow

Ah, the launch DS. It still boots but since ever the right trigger was a bit unreliable.

Top Games: Pokemon Platinum + my Action Replay, Mario 64 DS, Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS, Kirby Canvas Curse, Nintendogs.

Current Status: Broken hinge and flaky R button, but works otherwise.

Technically this was my sister's.
