Kevin's Public Notes
The faintest ink is stronger than the fiercest memory
Hello, I'm Kevin. Welcome to a garden of my thoughts and writing.
I use an open-source notetaking tool called TriliumNext, a very cool application originally created by zadam. This page is the entrypoint the public facing parts of my notes. Feel free to browse around, and let me know what you think.

Navigating this site#
On this site you'll find various categories of notes I find worthwhile to share. Each note is a node in a tree with a parent note and/or child notes. The children of a note are shown at the bottom of each page (see Child notes:
). Alternatively, you can see each and every note as a tree on the left part of any page.

Why take notes like this?#
I enjoy sharing my ideas.
Secondly, it's theraputic to write down my thoughts and read over them later. Ninety percent of my notes are private and not shared publicly. Everything seen on these pages is the ten percent I've explicitly designated as public. So really, most of the reason I take notes is for my own sake.
Since around 2013, I've kept some form of text-based digital notes. I've tried other methodologies (Digital Notetaking Methods I've Tried), but trilium is the one for me, see Do I Like the Notetaking Program TriliumNext? (Yes). TLDR on why I like trilium: it's extremely hackable, has functionality for public notes, it's self-hosted, has autosyncing, and is well-maintained.
