    Government agencies, the one that brought you the food pyramid that is proving to be incorrect.... Growing up, we left food out to cool, ate potato salad at back yard picnics that were on the picnic table all day and at worse got a tummy ache. At best we got resilience to foodborne pathogens. We ate dirt and drank puddle water. We're still here. You have more of a chance getting sick from eating raw oysters than letting food cool at room temp.
