Good Options#

  • Dash dance just outside of their wavedash jab range
    • run away single laser
    • fullhop drill
    • randomly run in running shine
  • On shield: No fastfall strong bair is great
  • Standing and waiting on the outer edge of the platform (here's fiction explaining why). Similarly standing in the corner (though counter-intuitive) is good too.
    • similarly be careful crossing them up by fullhopping over them.

Avoid#

  • Teching toward the corner. You will get handoffed there if you get grabbed.
  • Always trying to fall on top of them with fullhop (drill). They have tools to deal with this (sh upair, uptilt), though they are commital. You've got to mix up the grounded game with the up down game.

They're Looking For#

  • Low %
    • wavedash → jab → grab
      • I can hold down and shine.
      • or fullhop over it
    • wavedash → (shield) grab
      • stay out of wavedash range when dash dancing. If you see them wavedash in, fullhop is usually a good option to try to deal with it. They'll probaby shield your fh bair.
    • weird desync blizzard / ice block stuff.
      • just jump over it and ignore

    • wavedash → downsmash

  • If both climbers, usually downthrow → shine. It hits the other climber and is pretty hard to punish.
  • Sopo do upthrow upair stuff.
  • Backthrow either climber is good if it's safe
